Introducing Alaina Michelle Bailey!

Adoption Birth
I was very fortunate to be called on to photograph the birth and adoption of a very special little girl named Lani. I can not begin to tell you how emotional I was from the moment I walked into the hospital to the end when I saw the birth mother holding her baby girl for the very first time. My head was spinning trying to think of all the special shots I wanted to get with such little time. WOW what an incredible experience it was!

Tips on an Adoption Birth:
1. Make sure you know what the adoptive parent/parents desires are during the birth and always respect the birth mother!
2. Don't put yourself first, step back! This is not your moment but try to capture it low key as you can without putting yourself first in the situation.
3. Look around the hospital for things people can relate to such as nursery signs, hospital name signs, newspapers with events on the same day as the birth.
4. My own personal feeling is birth shots look better in black and white. It adds alot of character and drama about the event.
5. Create a collage of events in an orderly fashion, it makes the viewer feel like they were a right there and part of the event!

Good Luck!
It was an awesome night.

A Beautiful Blue Eyed Baby Boy

This weekend I was able to schedule some time and photograph this 1 and 1/2 month old beautiful baby boy.  I kid you not, he never cried.  I was like WOW :).  I am still new to photographing newborns but I'm definitly getting my feet wet.  A big THANK YOU to the family for having enough faith in me to capture this beautiful time in his life.

With the holidays and hectic schedules I haven't been shooting as much. I did get a new 2.8 lens for Christmas which I am highly excited about! I hope each of you had a great Christmas and a Happy New Year!
